Accelerating your FinTech Startup

Startups can apply for the 1864 accelerator through the website and fill out a form via the F6S portal. The application window will be open for 2 months and the accelerator team will begin screening applicants for the next stage of selection.
Six weeks before the cycle starts, Flat6Labs will organize a local Fintech Hackathon that will be directly supported by Barclays and will be a key event in introducing and promoting 1864’s first cycle.

After reviewing and filtering the application, the best teams will are inited to be interviewed in person by 1864 Accelerator and Barclays Bank Egypt.
Based on interview results, The best 20 teams will be selected to participate in a 5 day bootcamp. The bootcamp is designed as an intensive workshop for each team to work on developing and testing their idea further and for us to better understand their business in more detail. It also serves as a very important filter for identifying founders who we believe have what it takes to “make it in the real world.”
After the 5-day bootcamp, each team presents in front of a selection committee which will consists of members from Barclays, Flat6Labs, and industry experts who will select the final teams to be accepted into the cycle. Up to 10 teams will be selected to begin the 14 week program.

Each accepted company will start the onboarding process with company registration. 1864 Accelerator team will help the startup teams begin operating as a fully-fledged incorporated business by helping them with signing term papers, company registration, legal agreements, and lightweight due diligence. After this point, you are ready to begin operating as a fully-fledged incorporated business.
DEMO DAY & BEYOND

After teams receive orientation and are setup, they gain access to mentors & begin training. They then spend the first month of the program building and iterating the minimum viable product. The second month of the program focuses on market access where teams enter the market, begin acquiring customers & measure response. By the third month of the program teams are growing their company and analyze data to decide if they will pivot or proceed.
At the end of the 14 week program, a Demo Day is held giving the companies the opportunity to pitch in a room full of accredited VC’s, angels, investors, entrepreneurs, mentors, partners, and the media.
