Sherif ElGhatrifi has more than 15 years of experience in setting up different businesses. In 1994 Sherif started an importing business importing artificial flowers from Thailand the business developed and encompassed towel designing. Upon receiving a degree in Economics from the American University in Cairo in 1998 he joined ARAMEX as a Sales Executive handling major clients such as Marriott, Compaq, Orascom and various others in addition he was responsible for building the companies business in Hurghada. Sherif managed to effectively grow the business substantially and introduced various offers and promotions such as a Christmas special targeting foreigners residing in Egypt which boosted sales for December by 100% from the previous year.
Sherif then moved on to Orascom Projects and Touristic Development as assistant financial advisor which allowed Sherif to further develop his financial capabilities. While working at OPTD there were several challenges to finding and recruiting new employees, which gave Sherif the idea of starting up an online recruitment business for the Egyptian market careeregypt.com this venture deemed a success and three rounds of investments were raised expanding the operation across the MENA region being the first online recruitment solution for both Egypt and the region with offices in five countries. As Chief Operating Officer and founder for CareerMidEast.com Sherif gained exposure through setting up the regional offices, handling all the operations and sales in addition to the financials of the company. CareerMidEast.com was then share swapped into LINKdotNet were Sherif occupied the role of Organizational Development Director setting the internal workflows in order and introducing KPI&rsqu o;s to the company and streamline the operation.
Sherif moved on to start up MediSoft Egypt a company specializing in medical software for both private clinics and hospitals. The key accomplishment of the company was its competitiveness within the Egyptian market offering its clients a very competitive price for the initial installation of the software and then charging clients on a usage basis which could then be passed down on to the patients.
In 2005 Sherif joined Bupa International as the General Manager to setup their Egypt Operation. In 2006 Bupa Egypt Insurance commenced trading and grew to become one of the largest medical insurance players in the Egyptian market. In 2009 Sherif was appointed head of sales and distribution for the Middle East and North Africa for Bupa International in addition to his role as General Manager for Egypt as a stand alone insurance entity. In 2010 Sherif was also promoted to become a board member and the Managing Director of Bupa Egypt Insurance leading the company to become the largest Medical Insurer in Egypt with a 45% market share in Egypt in 2013.
