Executive Director, Arqaam Capital
Sherif is an Executive Director with Arqaam Capital, a leading regional investment bank with offices in Dubai, Cairo, London, Beirut, and Johannesburg.. Prior to joining Arqaam Capital, Sherif was a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Akanar Partners, a specialized M&A and Corporate Finance advisory services firm based out of Cairo, Egypt. Prior to founding Akanar Partners in 2009, Sherif was a Director of Investment Banking with Cairo-based Beltone Financial during which time he led client engagements in both M&A and Capital Markets with coverage responsibilities across several sectors. Prior to that Sherif spent time with Booz & Co., a global management consulting firm, working out of their Dubai and Riyadh offices. At Booz, Sherif worked on numerous strategy based assignments for leading GCC clients in the Telecom and Financial Services space. Sherif began his banking career with Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division in New York in 1998, having worked in the M&A and Middle East coverage teams prior to leaving to pursue his MBA. Sherif is a graduate of Wesleyan University (USA), Class of 1998, and obtained an MBA from INSEAD in 2003 with a concentration in Strategy & Management. Sherif is currently an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and also serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Directors of Amer Group, a leading publicly listed real estate and hospitality player in the Egyptian market.
